Problem in using "Paste Excel Data"

Hi,
I'm trying to copy some String data from MS Excel and found that some string data

'CLF' and 'HOT' cannot pasted to a cell variable.

'CLF' will changed to '1' and
'HOT' will changed to a cell matrix

Is anybody have the similar problem? Is there any way to fix it?

Why don't you use xlsread?
