How can i do automatic zoom to a signal and 'ginput' after that.

I have one signal and i want one algorith in order to make aytomatic zoom in the area i want to and after that i want to be able to use "ginput" in order to specify my area.

for example : i have one FFT(fast fourier transforn) plot which shows one high lobe.So i want an algorith in order to zoom in my area and after i can use "ginput"

Ps : I hope that you understand my problem ,if not let me know.
