Which is the most efficient method for segmenting medical images such as retinal images??

1. K means algorithm

2. Histogram based methods

3. Edge detection

4. Region growing methods.

5. Others.. (Can anyone specify?)

Nirmal:
Methods 1-5 are all good in the situations that they are good for
(just to state the obvious). That's where the art of image analysis
comes in. YOU have to decide the best method for YOUR particular
images.

For retinal images, I suggest you start by looking (via web search) at
what others have discovered so far. Those methods might work for you
adequately, or they may not, in which case you improve on them and
publish the results.
Good luck,
