Mac keyboard doesn't work well with matlab.

Hi, we are starting to use matlab on our university. We have windows in school but here at home I have a mac.
I've som problems with the keyboard, for exemple I can't write "^2".

Is there anything I can do?

Really? Are you sure? Really really sure? Isn't the "^" character shift-6?

Your keyboard at home likely has a different locale setting
than the keyborad you use at school. Google for "keyboard
layout" (possibly with some hints about locales and languages
from your area) and you might find help:

Be aware that some locales hide useful characters in awkward
places. The Norwegian locale hides {,[,] and }, which are
essential to programming, as <alt gr> characters. So I use
English locale settings for the keyboard. It's a bit confusing
at times to hit some other key than where the character you
want is, but it gets easier with time. After a couple of
decades. I hope.

I can write "2^" but when I hit 2 to type "2^2" it erase the "^".
Once i've been able to write 2^2 instead of erasing the "^" by hitting the second 2.
