Suppose I have a simple two column matrix A. Column 1 contains information about QUALITY and column 2 contains information about PRICE.

Suppose I wish to calculate for certain intervals of QUALITY, the mean PRICE, what is a nice approach for this. I was thinking that I need to define these quality intervals in a vector, and apply these intervals, but exactly how is the problem.

What is the defining expression for an "interval"?
Look up "logical addressing" in doc's meanwhile may give some ideas...
