I need to do some more poking around, but this is the first I've heard regarding serious quality/stability concerns of this release. It would be great if you could provide us with more specific information about what the issues are, so we dig into it for you. Your best bet is to contact technical support directly.

Hi,
I am having some stability issues, but not very serious. 2009a has sometimes given pages of red javaLangOutOfMemory.... EventPump... UnknownSource... (can't remember exactly). Not often, but more than previous versions.
I am still usually able to use Matlab for days. I typically have Matlab (or two) open all the time with various things going on and carry my laptop around in "sleep" and only restart when I really have to (not even every week).
Though in my case 2009a is not the only new thing. I now have for the first time Vista 64 bit and 64 bit 2009a. Hard to tell which one is the reason.
But still not often enough to trigger me contacting tech support.
