I'm trying to work with a large java object, about 5 GB. It will populate itself from file, and sometimes this works but often it crashes with a heap space error. I'm confused by this because I'm on a 64-bit linux box with ~164 GB of ram. I have the heap space slider in preference turned all the way up. What could be the problem?
