xcorr() is an m-file. I can't believe it would be that difficult to
find a copy somewhere to see how it works and ten implement it
yourself. I'm assuming of course that the "student version" has
fft() and ifft().

MOreover, according to the web site, the Signal Porcessing Toolbox may be
purchased for $29.00 with the Student Edition.

Oops... somehow when I was trying to fix a problem I was having with the
Mathworks news server last week, I got the name Mathworks in the name field.
I'm not really Mathworks... I'm Ken.
