Thread Subject:
x86-64 Student Version Install

Subject: x86-64 Student Version Install

I just received and tried to install the student version (14R3)of
Matlab for Linux.

It appears that this version does not install on x86-64, even though
the requirements page

 <http://www.mathworks.com/academia/student_version/requirements.html>

lists x86-64 processors as compatible.

When the installation script for the student version executes, it
looks for a 64 version in the /unix/update/bin directory, but the
only thing there is

/unix/update/bin/glnx86
/unix/update/bin/mac

Is there something totally braindead that I'm doing wrong, or is the
Student Version really not x86-64 compatible? If it's not, the web
pages for the student version really need to be updated, b/c the
documentation says "The Student Version includes all of the features
of the professional version of MATLAB" (p 1-11) and the professional
version has had x86-64 support since 7.0.1

Any help would be appreciated
