Hi - I'm about to embark on a project to create a video annotation
system in the Student version of Matlab. It should be relatively
simple: I want to be able to play a video and then insert
hierarchical markings in a corresponding xml file to demarcate
temporal events in the video for later analyses.

So, I want to be able to produces something like this:
-speaker stand up
---speaker start talking
------speaker ppointing with left hand
---speaker end talking
-speaker sit down

This shcema would obviously include time codes to indicate when each
event occured.

Has anyone created something like this so that I can get an idea of
how to start this type of project? Yip, I'm fairly new to Matlab.
A Google search revealed a commercial package (not written in Matlab)
that does exactly what I want, but it is over $6000! Ouch. So,
being able to achieve this in Matlab would be wonderful!
