control grid overlap

Subject: control grid overlap

hi I'm trying to create a routine that will warp one image to another
based on free form deformations to a control grid of variable
dimension size (ie. resolution).

The problem I'm having is that sometimes my control grid points will
overlap other points, in other words my plane is folding over itself,
the boxes that the control grid defines dissapear because some of the
points are moved too far.

If there a routine or some efficient method of checking a grid for
overlaps and fixing them in such a way that it still retains the
shape of the deformation?

thanks
-Dan

Hi Dan:

I am running into the same issues right now, did you ever figure it out?

Thanks,

Joe
