Subject: Newbie question aout Matlab and Java

It is possible to call Java classes in Matlab - eh, but why? Does Matlab come with 'Java' 'built in?' Can I expect any PC with Matlab to run an m-file invoking a Java class? (With the class file available and added to classpath, of course).

Thank you.

Actually, please disregard the question. I think I have something more specific in mind, but at this point am unable to ask the right question. (I did read the Mathworks help page saying that each Matlab installation comes with Java Virtual Machine).
