hi.it is my first time using matlab sofware..
can the matlab communicate with a/d and d/a converter
using the serial port or rs232 to send and receive data
into matlab for controlling or analysis?how can i apply it
with simulink?what toolbox or application in matlab that i
can use?can anyone help me.thank you.

FYI -- you should make sure that the subject line is a
summary of your question -- lots of people read these, and
only look at the ones with relevant subjects.

Serial support is built into MATLAB. Type "help serial."
You'll need the Instrument Control Toolbox to access serial
from within Simulink.
