I created a GUI with Doug Hulls help (http://www.mathworks.com/matlabcentral/fileexchange/loadFile.do?objectId=8616&objectType=file), which opens an image in an axes. Very nice.

Now I would like to colour special values of pixels and count them afterwards in that image, like I learned from Walter:

----------------------------------------------------------
I2=imread('M.jpg') %whatever appropriate image name instead of M

cm = zeros(256,3);
cm(1+(0:14),:) = repmat([0 1 0],14-0+1,1); %green
cm(1+(15:34),:) = repmat([1 1 0],34-15+1,1); %yellow
cm(1+(35:64),:) = repmat([1 1/2 0],64-35+1,1); %orange

image(M); %whatever appropriate image name instead of M
colormap(cm); %and now the image will be colored.

Original = imread ('M.jpg'), figure imshow (M);
counts = histc(M(:), [0 15 35 255 inf]);

100 .* counts ./ numel(M)
----------------------------------------------------------

But I like to have
-3 sliders for the pixelvalues
-a new picture in an extra axes for the new coloured picture (axes2)
-the values of the pixels in an edit text box.
-the percentage in an edit text box.

I already placed these things in the GUI. But I having some problems with the sliders and the axes. Now the picture opens in axes2 and not in axes1, I tried:

hAxes = findobj(hMainGui, 'type', 'axes');
axes(hAxes1)

but it did not work and I have no idea how to manage the sliders.

Thank you for your help in advance.

GUI:
----------------------------------------------------------
function varargout = main(varargin)
% MAIN M-file for main.fig
% MAIN, by itself, creates a new MAIN or raises the existing
% singleton*.
%
% H = MAIN returns the handle to a new MAIN or the handle to
% the existing singleton*.
%
% MAIN('CALLBACK',hObject,eventData,handles,...) calls the local
% function named CALLBACK in MAIN.M with the given input arguments.
%
% MAIN('Property','Value',...) creates a new MAIN or raises the
% existing singleton*. Starting from the left, property value pairs are
% applied to the GUI before main_OpeningFunction gets called. An
% unrecognized property name or invalid value makes property application
% stop. All inputs are passed to main_OpeningFcn via varargin.
%
% *See GUI Options on GUIDE's Tools menu. Choose "GUI allows only one
% instance to run (singleton)".
