I frequently use tools such as ginput and roipoly to allow users to
interface with data when the data is in an image format. I now have a
LIST of x,y coordinates defining points in a plane (not regularly
spaced) that I plot using the plot command. Is there a simple way to
do something like an roipoly to select all the points in a defined
region when the data is in a format like this (and is not simply an
image)? Right now I am interpolating my points to a regular grid,
then using roipoly, then selecting those points that fall within the
ROI mask, but I am guessing that there is a better way...
