I am running 10.5.1 and MatLab 2007b. When I am looking at an m-file in the
MatLab editor, I have problems using the scroll wheel of my mouse. Specifically,
I move the wheel (actually it is a "nub" because I have a Mac mouse) the
scrolling begins but it doesn't stop when I stop scrolling. Instead it continues
far past where I intend to go. This behavior was not present under 10.4.

Thanks Brian. The bug fix works like a charm.

The bug fix worked but now there are problems with the cursor position.
At locations that are far from the left border - the position of the cursor is not what I see it is. It annoying especially when trying to fix text and ending up deleting the wrong characters/brackets etc. The cursor is simply no where you see it with your own eyes. It seems that the problem becomes worse as you get further away from the left margins.
Help, please...
Thanks!

If the text shifting is the only problem you're experiencing, then for
the Desktop code font in the Fonts panel of the Preferences dialog, try
using Andale Mono or Courier New.

Hey Mark,
I have the same cursor problem after using the work around that enables quartz and changing the font andale mono or courier new didn't change this.

I'm on a mac pro running OS x 10.5 w/ matlab 7.6 R2008a.

Any more suggestions? This cursor issue is as bad or worse than the original slow scrolling issue.

thanks,
jerad

Hi Jerad,

Have you tried the 9 point size of Andale Mono or Courier New? You may
get the text-shifting problem with the 12 point size of those fonts but
we have not had any problems with 9 point.

The alternative is to install the separate Java patch for the font
issue; see:
