Question: How do I create a map axes as a default axes space
for a GUI?

Background: I've used GUIDE to create a very basic set up
with an axes area and a 'refresh' button. I am able to plot
my data and refresh it using contourf, but I would prefer to
use contourfm so that I can use existing shapfiles to
provide backgrounds for my geo-located data. I am wondering
how to change the existing handles.axes1 upon GUI start up
to be a map axes or alternativly how to get the GUI to
create a Map axes initially!
Thanks!
M
