I'm going to contruct a line following robot but I wanted
to simulate my design using simulink and the VR toolbox. I
understand the basics of both but I just wanted to know if
it was possible to get data from the VR toolbox on the
colour of a line or plane. If i could send a ray in the -y
direction (down) and get the RGB (to detect white/black
line) from my sensors. If not is there another way? I
appreciate any information, thank you. B.T.W i'm using V-
Realm builder to construct my world.

Hi Jim,

If your robot will be doing image processing to detect the
line, you can use VR to Video block available in Virtual
Reality Toolbox 4.6 (R2007b). This block will output an
image of a virtual scene as an RGB output that you can use
to feed into your image processing application.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Arkadiy, I'm actually using IR sensors but i'm not
going to simulate that, i'm just going to simulate the
outputs i get from them. I think the image processing
toolbox also sounds like a good idea, thank you for
suggesting that I might start playing with the Image
Toolbox :)
