I have a thresholded image with most of the image
intensities = 0 (background/black) and a few = 1
(foreground/white).
The white pixels are clumped together in an arbitrary shape
(could be circular or square or any other shape) and there
are several such shapes.
Say I have two or more such clumps or blobs (each blob is
surrounded by black pixels), how would I identify these
blobs?
Right now, I have code that finds ALL the white pixels in a
binary image. However, if I try to assign a "centroid" by
calculating the mean values of all x and y direction white
pixels, I get just one centroid. What I want is to identify
these blobs seperately and obtain a centroid for each of
them seperately.
I also want to assign them "identities", say blob1, blob2
and blob3.
Any suggestions on how I can go about accomplishing this?
(at least the initial part)
