I have this same problem with Matlab 7.0 on Vista. My
computer is new out of the box, so I do not think it is a
virus. Seems I need a newer version of Matlab?

If you are running vista (or any other version of
windows,i.e. XP) with an AMD chip, you will have to change
the blas version over to AMD.

to do this you need to go to "My Computer" left click on it
select "properties"

go to the advanced tab and select the Environmental
Variables button > under user variables select the "new
button" in the variable name box type "BLAS_VERSION"
(without the quotes) and in the variable value box type
"atlas_Athlon.dll" (exactly like that,w/o quotes) click
ok and you should be good to go .. hope that helps ..
