Thread Subject: fprintf standard error not working

I used fprintf(2,... to generate a red message to the screen
of someone else's computer but it didn't work. It always
works fine on my computer. Error messages on that computer
are red so that is not the problem. Does anyone know what
could be the problem? This is not in any way in important
question but I am curious.
