I am trying to read the date and time from excel.

e.g. 10/10/2007 12:00

I use this commend:

A=xlsread(name)

however, there is no value returned.

How can I resolve this problem?

3x.

Have a look at
>> doc xlsread

xlsread splits the Excel data into two parts: numeric and
string
The numbers are output as the first argument, the strings
are output as the second argument (as a cell array).
Dates are read in as strings and hence appear in the second
output.

>> [num,txt] = xlsread('YourFileName.xls');

Phil.
