Thread Subject: Newbie question about function handles

I want a 'wrapper' function that would take a string
argument, name of another function, and evaluate it. E.g.,

wrapper('sin',1)

would have wrapper.m evaluate sin(1)

Is there a way to do that without 'eval'?

feval does that.

f = str2func('sin');

f(1)
ans =
      0.84147
