Hi, I'm straying out of my field here and hoping someone might be able
to help with a matlab function or some advice. I've collected human
spatial performance data at 40 points evenly distributed across a
visual field - 8 points (N,S,E,W,NE,SE,SW,SE) on each of 5 concentric
circles around an origin. I have the x/y position and accuracy data
(z, scaled 0:100) at each of the 40 points. Surface plot on aggregate
data looks strongly elliptical (maybe half-ellipsoid - not sure), best
performance near origin then decline with distance faster along
vertical than horizontal axis.
I'd like to be able to do some kind of least-squares estimation of
this data using an elliptical function, estimating the semi-major and
minor axes of an ellipse that best describes the data, but I'm really
not sure how. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

need to work on semi-ellipsoid to be more specific half-ellipsoid.
how can i draw using Ellipsoid command,please
[x,y,z] = ellipsoid(xc,yc,zc,xr,yr,zr,n)
