Interpolate and Create Surface from Contour Data

Hello,
I have data in the form of contours that were generated
from medical CT images. I would like to interpolate a
surface from this data and export it as an iges or other
standard 3D CAD format so that I can mesh it and create a
finite element model.

I can’t seem to find the correct function for
interpolating the data between the contours and am hoping
that someone in the community either knows how to do this
or has some hints on what functions might be useful.

Thanks for your time,
Seth

Hi,

I should exactly smooth some 3D objects made from 2D CT scan or MRI data. Could you import your files in Matlab and smooth them. That would be great If you give me some help on this matter. In fact I have found some toolboxes about importing IGES and STL files into Matlab, but I do not know how can I use this toolboxes.

Regards,
Hani
