Subject: matlab editor: sorting filenames in the file window list

Hi

I often open many files within the matlab editor, but find it hard to
find them again:
it is too slow to scroll along the bottom, and the 'window' pull-down
menu lists
them in chronological order, which is hard to scan.
Is there a way to list them in alphabetical order?
Also, when using objects, many filenames have the same name, so we
need a way
to distinguish them...
What I do now is to navigate to the file using the Windows file
explorer
and click on the icon, but this is a bit of a pain.
Any suggestions?

Kevin

PS. I;m using matlab 2008a on Windows XP.

Kevin,

You can right-click on the editor tab bar and select "alphabetize".

Also, you can pull the bottom bar to the left side of the editor
window. Then you have the file names stacked on top of each other. You
can easily fit about 40-50 files if I remember correctly. Found this
by accident a few months ago while moving the mouse around.

Best wishes, Marcus
