Thread Subject: mutiple callbacks with single timer?

I have a GUI which contains a callback function which
initiates a timer. ('click here to reload new data every x
minutes'). I have second gui which I would like to use to
add a secondary callback function to the existing timer ('if
the new data meets a criteria make a noise')

Is it possible to add a second callback function to an
existing timer (would I need to restart the timer?)
