.. How about Matlab 2008?

Here's an example. I have Server and Database classes, and
wish to preserve the most recent Server object in memory.

function[obj] = Server
global activeServer
...
activeServer = obj;


function[obj] = Database
global activeServer
server = activeServer
class(server)
..


This doesn't work: 'activeServer' reaches the Database
constructor as 'double'.

Can anyone suggest a workaround?

My bad: I have failed to correctly initialize my global
object, hence the problem.
