I use Datafeed Toolbox to access Datastream Web service,
and so far have experienced a number of interruptions in
its availability

> dstr = datastream
(.., 'Datastream','http://dataworks.thomson.com/Dataworks/E
nterprise/1.0');
??? Error using ==> createClassFromWsdl>parseWsdl at 70
Unknown host: dataworks.thomson.com

- seen many time over half an hour just today.

Truth be told, I am not 100% sure it's the Web service,
and not Matlab, that's to blame. Anybody out there with
own Datastream Web service experience to share?

Thank you.

Word of advice: make use of the alternate Web service
address, e.g.
http://europe.dataworks.thomson.com/dataworks/enterprise/1.
0/webServiceClient.asmx
by incorporating try-catch blocks testing the different
addresses into your code.
