I have matlab installed in the machine in my lab. I'd like
to know how can I get access to it (command line) from a
remote computer, say, my laptop. I don't want to use remote
desktop. Does telnet work? How?

He is generally three matlab set, after installation of an installation program will automatically go to drive the second reading, so it is necessary to install CD-ROM, but you can download the installation process to go virtual drive. This can be installed!file encryption

What operating system is the lab-machine running? Windows or some Unix-
like OS (such as Linux, Mac OS X...)? If it is the latter, only thing you'll have to
do is to enable the SSH server (and adjust the firewall) and then you can use
an SSH-client (e.g. PuTTY for Windows) to access the lab computer.

However, Windows (once again) is a bit difficult in that respect. You might try http://sshwindows.sourceforge.net/ as an SSH server. Project seems to be
pretty dead though... You could do it with a full Cygwin install (see http://pigtail.net/LRP/printsrv/cygwin-sshd.html) or try FreeSSHd: http://www.freesshd.com/index.php. If you want to pay for the server, you
could give http://www.bitvise.com/winsshd a shot.

Don't use telnet! That's terribly insecure! You might not be worried about
somebody catching your data, but the password is transmitted in plain text,
so you really don't want that.

I cannot seem to find any connection between that response and the
question that the poster had asked ?
