hi all:

can anyone explain me why this:

hhh = figure;
hh = surf(peaks(50));
dcm_obj = datacursormode(hhh,...
    'Enable', 'on ');

gives the following error:

??? Error using ==> datacursormode at 138
Invalid figure handle

from my point of view, hhh is an handle:
ishandle(hhh)
ans =
     1

and it is also a figure:
get(hhh, 'type')
ans =
     figure

i can't understand why it's an invalid figure handle...

can anyone help me please???

thx in advance

see you

You should do either:
 dcm_obj = datacursormode(hhh) % get object

or

datacursormode(hhh, 'on ') % set property
