Hello,

Your help on the following matter would be much appreciated.

I know that Matlab has the functions spline/pchip which allow a user to construct a piecewise polynomial pp, based on some input numerical data. Then, this polynomial can be evaluated at some point of interest using ppval. Due to ppval, someone can employ the quad function on this pp, for example, in order to do numerical integration. My question is: Is it possible to achieve something similar in two dimensions, i.e. is there 2-D analogue to spline/pchip and, then, ppval, for an application in dblquad?

Thank you very much in advance for your attention and your assistance.

Hi,

Function interp2 has a 'spline' option. Function griddata has a 'v4' option, which is biharmonic spline interpolation.
