Hi,

In Simulink, what exactly is the difference of the "MATLAB Fcn" block and the "Embedded MATLAB Fcn" block? Which one is faster? My objective is to perform realtime video processing. Is one more suitable than the other for that purpose?

Hi,

Embedded ML block will generate C code. If one of your objectives is to produce code, you should be
using EML. You should really read the documentation on both blocks to see what they do.

This article includes a nice comparison of different ways to incorporate MATLAB
code into a Simulink model.

In particular, the part about "simulation overhead" gets at your question about
speed.
