i agree, the editor is completely unusable now...the text shifts everytime i select it and cannot tell where any of the text is truly located...please fix this ASAP as it makes the editor completely unusable! |

the large buttons displaying the list of opened editor files is the most annoying. Is there a (maybe non-conventional) way to change it? |

I've had the same issue. Using the fonts you suggested does indeed seem to stop the 'text shifting' problem. |

Not sure if this is related or not, but since doing this update any exported eps or pdf figure now export text as graphics and not as text (as was done previously). |

sorry i'm late on this one, i just updated java yesterday, and discovered this problem today. i installed the patch, and the fonts in the editor seem ok now, but the buttons on the document bar are still unreasonably large. is anybody else still having this problem after installing the patch? |

i seem to have spoken too soon. the size of the tabs has indeed shrunken, but now, anytime i mouse over to the tabbar, i can a huge long error message, such as the one appended below. It might help to know that i am running R2008a (not R2008b). i've appended my ver info below as well. i may have put some of the patches in the incorrect place. currently, i have a folder MATLABROOT/java/patch/com/mathworks/ with three subfolders: 'common', 'mwswing', and 'services'. any thoughts? |

By the way, a similar error happens when I scroll over the tabs in the figure window as well.... |

yeah, as expected. disappointing, but nevertheless, expected. its reasons like this that i'm considering leaving matlab altogether, in favor of something like python.... |
