Hi All,
We use Matlab external interface support(COM) to open an MDL file from JAVA. We need to open a specific MATLAB version (Desktop Application)during this process. From the Matlab documentation we understood that there will be independent ProgID for the latest versions of MATLAB after R2006b. The below are the ProgID we use to connect with a specific version of Matlab

1. Matlab.Desktop.Application.7 for Matlab version R2006b
2. Matlab.Desktop.Application.7.4 for Matlab version R2007a
3. Matlab.Desktop.Application.7.5 for Matlab version R2007b

We have R2006a, R2006b, R2007a and R2007b installed in one system. When we try to connect to R2007a with the 7.4 ProgID, its connecting with R2007b and not with R2007a. Our customers have R2008a, R2007b and R2007a installed in their system but when they tried to connect with R2007a, its connecting with R2008a. It works properly before installing R2007b / R2008a in the system but after installing the new version, even if I use the ProgId of R2007a, it is connecting with the higher version.

What is happening here ??? Will the MATLAB installation changes all the ProgID details of MATLAB in the registry?? How can we connect to a specific version of MATLAB then ??? Is there a work around to fix this issue??

Thanks in Advance.
