I give up with this one! When double-clicking on a fig file, a new instance of matlab starts, even though matlab is already running, and the fig file doesn't open. This is not very useful. Anyone know how to prevent this?
Thanks

I thought this has been the old behavior. since 2007x ML will open the file
using the existing ML session. What version of ML you have?

Hi Gouliang,

Thanks for your response. This was using R2008a. I might try a reinstall & see if it solves it.

Thanks,

Kevin

You don't need to resintall Matlab. This command http://www.mathworks.com/help/techdoc/matlab_env/rmvd_matlablink__14.html will associate .m files so that a new Matlab instance is not created.
