Subject: Regionprops orientation in 3d?

Hi guys,

I'm running with MATLAB 2007b, and the help section for regionprops says that the "Orientation" and "major/minorAxisLength" properties are only available for 2d image inputs.

I've read somewhere that regionprops has been given a few extras in the latest MATLAB version. Can someone tell me if the "Orientation" property has been extended to multiple dimensions?

I'm essentially looking a various blobs in a 3d voxel volume, and I'd like to measure their Major axis direction in this 3d space. If the latest MATLAB regionprops can't do this natively, can someone suggest a function/tool that can? A cursory search of the file exchange hasn't yet turned up anything...

Thanks,
Sven
