Want a MathWorks LED flashlight that also has a laser pointer?
It could be yours. You just have to go get it.

Location:
http://geohash.org/9q5c1ufn6yzb
Hint: Underground, but not buried, in a round hole

While at the location, wait a few minutes to observe what comes by. It is quite a view.

For those into geocaching, there is a virtual cache nearby: GCGDTF (http://coord.info/GCGDTF).

Once found, please email me with the included secret code so I know it has been found.

I just found the laser/flashlight. Thanks for the little diversion, it's been a while since I've seen the planes that close despite working on aircraft component engineering every day.

So it was sitting there a couple of weeks and no one went looking for it? The "round hole" was an irrigation cover, behind this "Welcome to LAX" sign: http://static.panoramio.com/photos/original/7998770.jpg (not my photo)

I couldn't get great stills of the planes in the dark, but I did take a video: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=7186224226557616950&hl=en

Ummm, LAX is a 2070 mile drive from where I live, about 31 hours straight driving. And
with this weather lately, the various departments of highways have been recommending
that people stay off the highways in North Dakota.

Congratulations to Tony for his find!

The 2nd LED/LASER flashlight has been hidden. This time it is in the Miami area. Here is the link:
http://www.geohash.org/dhx4bu9u2wsv
Hint: Back corner, down low, hidden like a pearl.

This location also has a great view. Take a moment to "soak it in."

Thanks to Ethan Woodruff for providing the SWAG for me to hide.

Walter, sorry but this one is even a bit of a longer driver for you. Don't know when I will make it to North Dakota. I'm sure my collegue Ethan W. would volunteer for that trip.

Actually, if his email is to be believed, Walter hails from Canada. He would have to drive through ND to get to LAX. Miami might be closer! (Correct me if I am wrong Walter)

Exactly right -- though I suppose I could take the even more desolate route across
the Canadian prairies instead of going down by way of North Dakota.

Looks like Miami is 200 driving miles further away from me than LAX is.
The monument marker for the geographic center of North America is about 3 miles
from the western edge of the (Canadian) city I live in.

Scales are a bit different around here. Around here, we consider Minneapolis
to be "close" -- because it is only 450 miles away.

To echo Gertrude Stein: there is no "Nowhere" here either ;-)

Hint: Get off that track and look under the power

Please email me with the CODE included with the LED/LASER flashlight to confirm your find.
