Thread Subject: Mp3 to matlab sound format

Hi , I would like to know if there is on FEX a tool to convert MP3 audio format to the the one used by the matlab "sound" command. Please don't be too complicated the only thing I know about sounds is how to listen them.

I would also know if in the help there is somewhere a page to explain very basic sound feature.

You'll need an MP3 decoder. Don't know if such a thing is
available in matlab, but don't expect it to be. First of
all, MP3 decoders are advanced from a technical point
of view, so it might not be practical to implement them
in matlab. Second, even if it could be implemented,
distributing an MP3 decoder might expose the author (and
the FEX administrators) to all sorts of legal trouble,
as one would gain access to the intellectual properties
of the makers and distributors of music.

The SOUND feature just streams a vector to the sound card.
The principle is simple, but the details might not be.
