Hi,

I am having a problem using imshow with version 2008b. When I type in:

imshow('Blank.bmp')

I get the error:

??? Undefined function or method 'imageDisplayParseInputs'
for input arguments of type 'cell'.

Error in ==> imshow at 168
  [common_args,specific_args] = ...

Does anyone know why this is happening and how I can get around it?

Thanks!!

you need to read your image first before you use that command.

I = imread('Blank.bmp');
imshow(I)

Thanks for this suggestion but it sill does not work. It executes the imread line without any errors but I still get the same error when I run the imshow line. Any other ideas?

Regarding ade77's response: No, the imshow function will take the name
of a file as its input argument.

To the original poster: Your error message suggests to me that you do
not have a valid installation of the Image Processing Toolbox. You do
not appear to have the function imageDisplayParseInputs, which is a
function that's part of the toolbox.

You might want to try reinstalling.
