I am trying to implement a simple (or apparently not so simple) Space Vector Modulation (SVM) routine in a Simulink model. Right now, I am supplying a three phase sinusoidal source and synthesising the SVM waveforms from this to make sure the algorithm works before integrating it into a larger model I am developing for a machine drive.

Unfortunately, it is very dificult to describe the problem without the model file. But essentially what is happening is that the resultant SVM waveforms are sent to the inverter from the SimpowerSystems library (6 gate pulses) and the voltages measured on the output. The phase voltages measured have a big "chunk" of the waveform that is simply zero, this chunk is at the positive peak of each cycle.

For anyone interested I can e-mail you the model file so you can take a closer look. unfortunately I am not too experienced in the development of SVM algorithms and thus I cannot see what is wrong at this moment.

There is already an SVM PWM generator block in SimPowerSystems under
SimPowerSystems>Extra library>Discrete Control blocks.

Under the mask of this block you can find the reference =93Space-Vector
PWM With TMS320C24x/F24x Using Hardware and Software Determined
Switching Patterns=94 to explain the theoretical justification of its
implementation.

Another way to create a SVM PWM is to compare the traditional three
sinusoidal waves plus an adequate zero sequence with the triangular
carrier wave take a look to the chapter 6 of the outstanding
licentiate thesis of R.Ottersten =93Vector Control of a Double-Sided PWM
Converter and Induction Machine Drive=94.

If your model is name svmModel2.mdl, then I have fixed it. I can send you the updated model.

Can you tell me where the idea or paper/book that you are based on ?

I am also facing the same problem.. I am implementing for both the rectifiers i.e. 3 phase current source and voltage source.. Not even in this i did DPC and many other techniques lbut for some i am not getting results either dc output becomes zero or input current has two many harmonics.. whether it is SVM, DPC, VF-DPC, etc.. If can help then i can mail the files....
