the 'pause' function as used to create a 'press any key to continue effect' doesnt work when compiled into a standalone application

can anyone please recommend an alternative?

Could you please elaborate on what you mean by 'doesnt work'?
It would help to know which version of MATLAB you are using too.


Perhaps you are refering to the fact that the key press needs to be given
to the DOS window which comes up?

by doesnt work i meant it cant be compiled as its operation is limited to within matlab.

i'm using it as part of a GUI. i just need a function that does the same thing as pause but can be compiled
