Of course, it is always dangerous to compare the performance of an application on different computer platforms, due to differences in hard- and software (handling). However, as far as I know, a important factor of influence on the performance of Matlab under Leopard (or any previous version of Mac OS X) is due to a slower Java-engine provided than what comes with MS Windows. The development of the Java-engine on the Mac is lacking behind compared to its Windows-counterpart, although Apple and Sun are trying to get it update. Correct me, if I am wrong!
