Please please please can you provide a download link to this file somewhere on your web site? I would like to deploy a standalone program to a user, but this file size is rather prohibitive of any practical method of file transfer for me (other than by post on a cd!) and rather restrictive therefore of matlab program development. Surely this would encourage more use of matlab programs in general (increasing sales hint hint to the money and legal men!!!). It is supposed to be freely distributeable after all, isn't it? If this is not possible can you go into detail about why this is not possible please.

Also, having had a look on the newsgroup, I'm aware of the argument that the user need only install it once and then things are fine, but what if I only need to ever give them one standalone program? And this still doesn't address the problem of sending it to them.

My dream is a 'download from component vendors website' option in the compiler like that found in Visual Studio so you can just deploy your tiny distributable and have the MCRinstaller file downloaded automatically if it's not present.

Thanks

Richard

This seems like a great idea to me too. It would be really good if the packaged version could automatically determine which MCRInstaller version to download.
