Hi.
I was wodnering what the policy is for resubmitting Mathworks-copyrighted files to the FEX. Specifically, I am doing an upgrade to the polar.m that comes with Matlab so improve functionality. Once done, I want to share with with the rest of the matlab community. Is that legal?

I'm not certain of the policy, but I know who would be. Contact
files@mathworks.com and the MATLAB Central team will be able to answer that
question.

I don't know what the official policy is, but I know that it has happened on numerous occasions. Some of the revised files reflected substantial improvements, others not so much.

I just remembered that all files are reviewed before being published. Therefore, if MW has a problem with it, they can just not release it. I have been very clear where the bulk of the code comes from, so there should be no misunderstanding.

PS On a side note, alot of mathworks code is very well-written, but there are some SERIOUSLY ugly hacks in there once you start looking. :D
