Thread Subject: cutting the boundaries of image

I want to crop the boundaries of image, without loosing the data in between.
the image is like this, the size of the rectangle is not fixed.

Use the imcrop() function, or just regular indexing like imageArray
(row1:row2, col1:col2)

But the size of the image is not fixed.Also the border size is also variable.

Does that matter? Simply vary the inputs to these cropping functions accordingly.
