Hi,

I am writing my thesis right now. The labeling of all my figures (gnuplot) so far was accomplished with psfrag making a nice uniform impression.

Therefore I was trying to format the labels of my matlab plots as latex as well. Unfortunately that did not work out.

   xlabel(ax1,'$S_w[-]$','Interpreter', 'latex');
displays only the subscript w

and
    xlabel(ax1,'$Sw[-]$','Interpreter', 'latex');

displays nothing at all.

Of course I could just use psfrag, but psfrag does not work for plots with colored surfaces: there are no text strings in the eps files any more.

thanks

Philipp

the LaPrint function available on MatlabCentral is a useful tool I use a
lot for Matlab graphics in LaTeX.

Phil,
The commands exactly as you write them produced the expected labels for me, in R2008a on windows XP.
