You'll have to elaborate.
Do you want to create an Excel file and write data from Matlab into
it?
Or do you want to save data from an Excel file into a .mat file?
Or something else?

yes,from excel file into a .mat. The excel file includes both strings and numbers

yes,save data from an Excel file into a .mat file. but the excel file include both numbers and strings
