Hi,

I am trying the download/install the Simmechanics Link program so I can use it with Solidworks. I have downloaded the zip file and the install_addon file and placed them in the c:program files\matlab directory.

After I type in: install_addon('smlink31.win32.zip') I get the following error messages:

Installing smlink...
Extracting archive smlink31.win32.zip to C:\Program Files\MATLAB\R2009a Student...
Warning: Permission denied to create file "C:\Program Files\MATLAB\R2009a
Student\bin\win32\pmi_toolkit_2.dll".
> In iofun\private\extractArchive>extractArchiveEntry at 108
  In iofun\private\extractArchive at 52
  In unzip at 92
  In install_addon at 37

This is only one of the messages with the only difference being that 'pmi_toolkit_2.dll' is different.

I have MATLAB 2009a 32 bit and using smlink31.win32.

Could you please tell me whats the problem and how to fix it. Is it ok to have the zip and addon file in the c: directory or should they be in the main MATLAB working directory. I have tried both and it doesnt seem to make a difference.

Thanks for the help

regards

Andy
