Thread Subject: Data Acquisition toolbox doesn't find device

Hello. I am trying to connect matlab to a National Instruments "Ni USB-9472" DAQ cards. I have installed all the software and drivers, and my computer sees them fine. The problem though is that MATLAB can't. When I try to access them, it says:

"Failure to find requested data acquisition device: nidaqmx"

I used the command "daqhwinfo.InstalledAdaptors" to see if it could see it, but all that was returned was " parallel" and "winsound". The cards work fine, my other older computer that has been doing this for a while can see it fine. I am running windows Vista, and matlab 7.8.0 (R2009a). Any ideas? Thanks

What version of NI-DAQmx did you install? You can see the cards in M&A explorer? You may need to run MATLAB as an Administrator (and use DAQHWINFO) once so that the NI adaptor for Data Acquisition Toolbox can install itself.

Yep, that fixed it! I had seen in other forums that you needed to be an administrator, but I am. I didn't realize you needed to additionally run matlab as an administrator. Thanks
